Cancer treatment societies.

My father underwent treatment for oat cell carcinoma of the lung which is one of the fastest progressing and most fatal of lung cancers. It is a small cell cancer and spreads very rapidly. From the day he was diagnosed with this and began treatment with chemotherapy and radiation therapy it was exactly six months before he passed away. Watching all the side effects that he endured made me wonder if he would have been better off just to not have the chemotherapy which caused nausea and vomiting, and the radiation which also caused nausea and vomiting, as well as loss of his hair and extreme weakness. I really feel that sometimes the side effects are far worse and I don''t think it would have shortened his life by that much, but simply made it more tolerable to live what time he had left.
