Despite the vast research going on do you think there is a treatment for cancer?
There are many ''treatments'' for cancer that are capable of bringing about remission or cure in a certain individual. The issue with this however is that each ''treatment'' is not necessarily a sure-fire cure for each individual. Cancer in and of itself is a difficult disease to treat as each tumor - though it may fit a classification such as type (melanoma) or grade (graded 1 through 4) - is actually specific to the individual as it contains their DNA damaged in a specific way to make those cells ''cancerous''. As not all people are exactly the same, neither are their cancers/tumors, which leads to the situation where a treatment which may put one person into remission (or cure them) and have no effect on another''s cancer progression whatsoever. When envisioning cancer try not to think of a virus like the flu, where the same virus infects many people, think instead of a each tumor as a unique disease to the individual. Therefore the vast amounts of research IS needed to eventually find a treatment or series or treatments that have higher success rates over more cancer types and more inidividuals.
