How To Explain Your Cancer Treatment To Others.
I discovered that when explaining cancer treatment to others, it''s best to treat every person as an individual. Some people want all the technical details and others would just prefer layman''s terms. Some of my friends who have also had cancer experiences, and my sister who works in the medical industry, were very interested in all of the names of medications and what each of them was for. Other friends and family members who are more squeamish about medical procedures seemed more content to hear a quick synopsis of what the treatment was, but were more interested in the emotional side of how I was doing. I found that it was helpful to give people a quick but honest answer when they asked about treatment, and then I could tell if they wanted to discuss it more in depth based on their reaction and questions.
