How to Help a Family Member During Cancer Treatment.
I will first inform each family member to do some precautions during and after they went on contact with the patient. This precautions are very important to remember during cancer treatment in order for them to know what to do.
And then, i will talk to them regarding on the names and effects of those drugs that we''re going to use. And most especially, there side effects. Just like, falling of hair or baldness(alopecia), the patient''s complete blood count will pull down. His RBC will be below normal, they should know that after each session of cancer treatment, the patient will most likely be fainted. Second, when the patient''s WBC will pull down, he/she will be prone to infection. The family should wear a mask when in contact with the patient, wash their hands before and after, the patient should wear a mask when going out. Third, when the patient''s platelet count will pull down, he/she will be prone on bleeding. The family member should keep the patient from any sharp objects that might wound the patient.
