How To Talk To Your Doctor About Cancer Treatment.
One of the keys to making the most of your cancer treatment is good communication with your doctor. My first suggestion is to always keep a notepad with you to write down questions as you think of them, even if it is while you are in the middle of the grocery store! Take the notepad with you to the doctors office so you can have all of your questions answered. DON''T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS! Try to have a family member of friend go to the appointment with you. It''s helpful to have someone else there to listen to the doctor''s advice. If you have to go to the appointment alone, consider bringing a tape recorder so you can replay the information later in case you forget anything. If you don''t understand your doctor''s answers, don''t hesitate to ask for clarification. Be clear with you doctor if you don''t know what some of the technical terms mean, or if he/she is oversimplifying and you would like a more detailed explanation. You will get the most out of your treatment if you and your doctor maintain on open line of communication.
