radiation therapy is one form of treatment used for almost all types of cancer, i.e. lung, breat, brain, uterus, lukemia. the treatment usually lasts 30 minutes to 1 hour and must be done over a period of 6 weeks, usually 3 times a week. It is also done in conjunction with chemotheraphy treatments thereby increasing the success rate of the cancer not returning or being reduced in size. both radiation theraphy and chemotheraphy threatments can cause the cancer patient to be very ill, vomitting, unable to eat, thereby causing weight loss, and also the chemotheraphy almost always causes hair loss.
